Have your fireplace inspected in White Plains today.
Your fireplace should be inspected once a year and depending on how often you use it, you may need a sweep once a year. A gas fireplace and a gas log set should be inspected and serviced every 1-3 years, depending on the frequency of use. We sweep the flue and vacuum the unit itself. When performing a full inspection a visual assessment of the entire chimney interior and exterior is performed. In certain circumstances, you may need a more intensive inspection, in which case a technician would discuss the option of performing a video camera inspection of the interior of the flue. In the warmer months, the heat and condensation can create an odor from the fireplace, which may mean that you will need a sweep if it becomes an annoyance.
If a wood burning fireplace is not properly maintained, a black thick film can build up, deposited from the exhaust and debris of consistent fires, which is called creosote and is a fire hazard. If this becomes the case, depending on the severity, our technician will recommend either a mechanical rotary cleaning or a chemical cleaning.
A furnace flue needs to be swept once a year for oil fired furnaces and every 2-3 years for gas fired furnaces.
Chimney Sweep Professionals
When sweeping a furnace flue, we perform a sweep of the entire furnace flue pipe to prevent any debris from affecting any appliance. Carbon monoxide is a dangerous odorless gas that is toxic and is a bi-product of your functional heating system. We take every precaution to ensure that the flue that connects to the heating system is clean and free from debris, to keep this hazardous gas from entering your home or business.
